Morning Adventures

We take a break in my storytelling to tell you about my adventurous morning:

7:07: wake up Trey to feed him before going to daycare

7:25: Trey finishes eating, but he had pooped while eating (as is his MO) so I changed his diaper

7:27: I’m gathering stuff and while gathering stuff Trey poops. Again.

7:28: Change poopy diaper

7:29: While walking out the door Trey spits up a tiny bit on me and him, not enough to warrant a change of clothing, out the door we go.

7:32: while buckling Trey into his car seat he spits up. Everywhere. All over his clothes, all over his car seat. And because I don’t need the diaper bag for daycare (they have everything there) I have nothing to wipe it up. Find a sweater of Lindy’s to mop up said spit up. Trey is soaked.

7:34: Trek upstairs to get Trey changed.

7:38: While walking downstairs Trey spits up a tiny bit. Again. All over me. My white kimono thing is now shot for the day. So much for feeling put together. **Note to self: don’t let Trey eat for so long without burping half way through…..**

7:42: Arrive to daycare 15-20 minutes later than I usually do. Can’t hand Trey off to person who usually takes him. She tells me to go to the other room. That teacher can't take my baby because she has a baby. "Baby room" teacher arrives. Follow her to the room, but she has her arms full so I take off my sandals (no shoe policy for the baby room) and put Trey in the swing, buckle him in and he smiles and giggles as I walk away.

7:50: Finally on the road to work.

It was quite the morning my friends. Quite the morning.

January 2016

January was a fun and busy month for us. I'm sure that seems to be the case every month, but it really was how January felt. Busy, but fun.

I finally committed to getting some curtains up in our living room. I was so sick of the hideous vertical blinds that we had that I took them down (all by myself!) and then sewed and installed these curtains. I'm happy with how they turned out!

Baby Ambrose is a growing and at this point I could barely see my toes!

We got locked out of our mailbox (oh that was a FUN fiasco) and this was the stacks of mail we had waiting for us after a week of not being able to get our mail.

 26 weeks pregnant!!

Lindy's birthday is in January and this year she wanted a pool party. We made fun beach cupcakes and had a BLAST with family and friends.

I can't believe she's 6!!!

blue frosting is the best. :D

Everyone loves a baby! It was so funny, she was set down on the floor and instantly EVERYONE was crowded around her. It was the funniest thing.

We had a military ball for Allan's brigade this month and I got all dolled up....

Just to end up in the ER right before dinner was served. :( It ended up being a gallbladder attack. Honestly the worst thing ever.
We were in the ER for a LONG time and this is my wonderful husband trying to get comfortable.

and this is the wonderful souvenir I got to go home with - the nurse was not gentle in putting in my IV.

We had a lot of very foggy mornings in January....

I decided it was time to put in the pack'n'play (that will have the bassinet added to it shortly) so I could get used to having it beside me before the baby is born. This meant I lost my nightstand, so I got some floating shelves and installed them ALL BY MYSELF. So proud.

A New Year....

Oh man, I'm so far behind. I need to get caught up though and then maybe someday I can be on top of this whole blogging thing. I used to be so good at it! Oh well....Let's start with the beginning of the year. :D

January came and went with lots of crazy things. The biggest of all of these was finding out for sure, positive that Allan wouldn't be deployed later in the year with his brigade. This was bitter-sweet for us. Sure, we're really happy that Allan ISN'T gone to Africa for a huge portion of the year, but the monetary benefits from him being deployed would have put us in a really good place. We're not super crazy poor by any means, but it just would have meant a more sure financial security and we're a little sad that we don't get that now. The whole deployment also would've come at just a really good time in our lives, but oh well. I'm happy he's home and not off in Africa!

Anyways! Pictures!

We still had Lindy on New Year's Day so we went down to the South Salt Lake Valley and met up with BreeAnn and her family and went to the Aquarium. It was REALLY busy there that day, but it was still fun! Lindy wanted to hold Rusha over and over again and they were SO CUTE together. It was fun times. :)

The rest of the month was fairly uneventful. We went to the annual Utah Lindy Exchange. Before going to one of the dances we went to a sushi place for a friend's birthday. :) Allan's sushi was really pretty

Continuing our home ownership saga we decided to take the water heater closet that was horribly organized and put in some shelving we found at Costco. Here's the Before:

 And the After:

We also bought a new bookcase to help out in our bedroom. I'm in love with it:

At the end of the month my ballet students were able to get pointe shoes:
And I went to the dentist and had to get a periodontal cleaning. It was NOT FUN. and I have severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist and this didn't help matters. We do have a really great dental office and I love that they're committed to helping me get my mouth in a good place, it's just no fun at all and I struggle with it.
